I'm not sure how much good-press this movie's been receiving because of director Derick Martini, who's credits include Lymelife and the movie starring another young actress (Dakota Fanning), Hounddog--didn't earn him many good reviews. However, Chloë Grace Moretz stars in the film and I like the young actress who's been gracing the screens since she was a little girl. She always seems to appear in these R rated movies. She even admitted that her mother doesn't let her watch some of her own movies---I mean for a 14 year old to be holding up a gun, snorting coke, among other acts of recklessness in the movie, can you blame her mother? The film also features actors, Blake Lively, Rory Culkin and Alec Baldwin. I don't care much for the Gossip Girl actress, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to see the movie. I'm hoping this dramedy will surpass the controversy and bad press on Moretz's role and Martini as director. I haven't seen any previews for the film, probably because it won't end up being a blockbuster, but it's something I'll keep my eye out for. I love B-Movies with bits of imperfection and that aren't always raved by critics. There's good quality in that mix, if that makes any sense. Anyways, Hick comes to theaters May 11th.
