The show which ran for 12 seasons starred Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher, a writer of mystery novels who ends up investigating and solving crimes. NBC's reboot of the show is set to have Octavia Spencer (The Help) as the leading lady and Lansbury isn't too pleased.

Lansbury, who is now 88 years-old admitted that she is greatful for the show, acknowledging that portraying Jessica Fletcher made her a worldwide-known character.
Angela Lansbury may disagree with the concept of the show being remade with the exact same title and character, but she does agree with the decision to cast Octavia Spencer. In fact she praised the actress's previous work in The Help, saying "she was absolutely wonderful, a lovely actress. So I wish her well, but I wish it wasn't in 'Murder, She Wrote.'"
Whoops. Well, what's done is done, right? Wrong. A pilot has to be filmed and the network executives have to approve it and it's a whole process so who knows if/when we'll see this on air. I don't know, I was a fan of the original and would love to see Octavia take on the role.
What do you think? Do you agree with Angela? The B wants to know!
