Friday Night Movie: Gimme Shelter

Now I usually post a Friday Night Movie on a film that isn't due to release for a couple of weeks, but I couldn't help myself. For those of you who don't know, I'm semi-obsessed with Rosario Dawson. Over two years ago I heard that Dawson was working on this project and couldn't figure out when the release date was. Well, now I know. Now let's get to Vanessa Hudgens. Ever since watching High School Musical--yes I'm admitting to having watched the Disney Channel Original Movie--I've wanted to see Hudgens do more. When you're thrown into a Disney contract, there's instantly a label put on you and I was waiting for her to break out. After doing the not-so-great film, Spring Breakers, it seems that the young actress wants to continue in the direction of darker, far-from-Disney, roles. Acting alongside Rosario Dawson who plays her mom and Brendan Fraser as the dad who rejects her, this looks like it'll be a decent role for Vanessa. Based on a true-life story, IMDb Buzz mentions that Hudgens prepared for the role by actually living in shelters. No word on if that's actually true, but if so, good for you, Vanessa.

The movie is out in theaters now. And I've posted the trailer below. What do you think?
