Maya Angelou (April 4, 1928-May 28, 2014)
The legendary Maya Angelou (86) passed away Wednesday, at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She touched and changed so many lives. Her legacy is untouchable. Her artistic work has managed to connect with many generations and allowed us to remain inspired. Angelou was a woman renowned for her beautiful poetry, her wise words and contribution towards literature. Recipient of the country's highest civilian honor, The Presidential Medal of Freedom, and author of the international best seller "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings", she exemplified storytelling at its best.
Maya Angelou will forever be remembered as a woman who pushed for justice, education and equality.
