My favorite part of fall style is what I put on my face. Fall makeup is so unique. You get to keep the warm tones and shades, but eyeshadows go from shimmer to matte. Lip colors stay bold, but go from hot pink to dark and vampy. Here are some of my favorite shades to use to keep the transition subtle!
Now I'm sure you all have heard about the Naked Palette. This bunch of eyeshadows is a cult favorite among everyone from beauty gurus to professional makeup artists, and it is easy to see why. Universally flattering neutral shades with insane color payoff and a massive variety of looks to create? Where can you go wrong? (Besides the $50 price tag...)
Just as an example of the summer to fall changes I use personally, an awesome eye look is Half Baked on the lid, Smog in the crease, and Darkhorse in the outer V just to deepen the look. The colors are so shimmery and bronzed, the look is perfect for summer.
Now for fall, I'd take Naked as my transition shade all over the eye, and Buck in the crease and on the lid. This makes blue eyes look really intense, as well as pretty much every other eye color.
When it comes to lips, I've been wearing a lot of these colors...
Your neon oranges, bright purple-y pinks, bright corals, and even some orange-y reds. These colors are so much fun. If you keep the rest of your makeup subtle, they're easy to pull off, too! I've been loving Covergirl's Spellbound and the Maybelline Vivids Collection.
As for fall...
Or just ditch the lip color altogether, à la Alexander McQueen.
Now THAT'S a back to school look.
Happy Monday!
