[Discovery] Music Tuesday: Little Mix

. . No comments:

Just this past Sunday, the all-girl group Little Mix made X Factor UK history by becoming the first all-girl group to ever win the X Factor. Their debut single has already been released in the UK, "Cannonball". The song is a cover of the Damien Rice song. It is said that a CD release for the group will soon follow featuring bonus tracks: "Superbass", "ET" and "Don't Let Go (Love)".

They all auditioned as soloists and got made into a girl group. I'm not a fan of the X Factor. In fact, when I heard the news I just thought, "Oh great. Another group of little girls that won't last longer than a month". That is until I watched some videos of their performances. They're not little at all. They're very much young women, and they've got some lungs on them! They had a huge fan base on the show, so I'm sure they'll have a huge following as well in the UK.

Hmm, a popular all girl group from the UK. Doesn't that story sound familiar? Do The Spice Girls ring a bell? In fact Mel C from The Spice Girls, was ecstatic that Little Mix won X Factor. Mel C even said that the new group could be bigger than The Spice Girls, “Little Mix could be even bigger than The Spice Girls. Plus, they’ve got an added bonus in that all four of them have equally amazing vocals. With The Spice Girls, vocals weren’t our strong point,” (HeatWorld).

Check out a live performance of Little Mix, peforming a cover of "Don't Let Go (Love)" by En Vogue.
