!No Me Digas! Lindsay Lohan to star as Elizabeth Taylor

Lindsay Lohan, will be making a comeback, as Elizabeth Taylor in a biopic, according to YahooTV. The Lifetime film is titled Liz and Dick and will focus on Liz Taylor's rocky romance with Richard Burton. I'm sure many were shocked to hear the news, and will immediately began dissing Lohan. However, producer of the film Larry Thompson said, "We could hire actresses that would be great and people would watch it, but I think that Lindsay brings to Elizabeth Taylor and to our project that sparkle of magic, that sparkle of today" (YahooTV). In another article I read, Rosie O'Donnell did not hesitate to express her feelings about Lohan's upcoming role, saying "I feel very sorry for her. I think she needs a lot of help. She needs a lot of time away" (E!). Ouch!

On the brighter side of things, Lohan I don't think will have a problem channeling the character, as pictures have already begun to surface of Lohan resembling Elizabeth Taylor. The question then becomes, how well she develop the character and how great will her performance be? YahooTV has Lohan's statement on doing the film via Us Weekly, "I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role." (YahooTV).

Hmm, I love me some lifetime movies, what do you think?

  1. Here's what I think: Linds is still a mess right now, but the only way for her to become a relevant actress again is to do something that showcases her true talent. I've always thought she was a great actor, so I'm rooting for her in this Elizabeth role. As long as she nails it, everyone will shut up (including Rosie, who has no reason to speak). But if she fails at it, then we'll know that she clearly wasn't ready to be a good actor again. We'll have to see.

By the way, I went and saw Think Like a Man the other day and loved it. Usually Kevin Hart annoys me, but I found the entire ensemble cast to be really great.

  3. Cheryl, I agree! She definitely has potential. And I can't believe you don't like Kevin Hart! He made all the jokes in that movie.

Dawn, glad to hear from you, hope all is well. And she is a good choice, all eyes are on her now, I'm sure.
