Can I just say, I simply adore Chloë Grace Moretz. So when I saw the trailer for this on TV some time ago, I actually stopped what I was doing to watch it. The movie is based on the bestselling YA novel by Gayle Forman. The book alone was widely received, so I'm sure fans are awaiting the movie's release. I can definitely see this being one of those flicks that I want to go into a dark theater and watch alone, because it will turn into a sobfest. I've no doubt after watching the movie trailer that Chloë will give an amazing performance. I think she's one of the few of Hollywood's young starlets that has a good head on her shoulders and is heading in the right direction. I don't think it's right to compare this book to movie adaptation to The Fault In Our Stars. While this film also promises to be a tear-jerker, the story in no way compares to The Fault In Our Stars. If anything, I can see the huge fan base/following of that movie to carry over to If I Stay. To say that one will be more successful than the other is pushing things a bit. Read the book, go see the movie and judge for yourselves. To be honest, I didn't have a desire to go see The Fault In Our Stars. But I really do like Chloë Grace Moretz so that's one of the main reasons why I'm rooting for this film. Well that and the fact that last year's Carrie wasn't so successful. However, I strongly believe this performance will redeem that And with that, I'll be adding the book to my reading list and will indulge myself in the novel before I see the film.

If I Stay opens in theaters August 22. Check out the trailer below. What do you think?
