Friday Night Movie: Abduction
"When Nathan (Lautner), who has always felt distanced from his parents, discovers that he was kidnapped as a child, he begins to uncover a vast conspiracy and must go on the run in order to survive." (IMDb)
When I first saw the trailer for this, I was like, "Oh great. What serious movie he going to try to do now?". But the actual concept for the movie, isn't that bad. Unless you watch every behind the scene, or movie clip that exists for this movie, you don't actually know what's going on. Now maybe, they could have used a different actor beside Taylor Lautner to star in the movie. But maybe this is the post-Twilight publicity he needs, to move on and away from the franchise. I will admit, I'm still not sold on Lautner. I guess I'll actually have to go out and see the movie. I will give it to him though, I've read that Lautner did just about all of his own stunts for the movie. He came in to shooting the film ready to go, and we all know he's pretty athletic with a martial arts background. So, kudos to you Taylor!
Regardless of how Taylor Lautner does in the movie, I think he'll still have his Twilight fans come out and support him. Which when you think about it, is helping box office sales, but at the same time creates a bias for the movie. All that aside, Abduction doesn't hit theaters until September 23rd, so we shall have to wait and see.
Take a look at the trailer below.
