Wednesday Buzz: Chris Pine To Star In Wonder Woman?

Rumor has it that the Star Trek actor is currently negotiating a lead in Wonder Woman film, according to E!  Pine would play opposite Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot, who is set to play the infamous superhero.

I've recently been on a The Fast & The Furious movie kick, so I'm a fan of Gadot. If you know me, you know that Wonder Woman is a sensitive topic for me. That's only because she's my favorite superhero. There has been talk for years of a comic-to-movie adaptation and the big debate was over who would be playing her. So far, no complaints although I'm sure I could find a handful of people who disagree with me. But anyways, back to Chris Pine.

According to various media outlets (THR, Variety), Chris Pine is being considered for the role of Steve Trevor, love interest of Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince. There has been no confirmation from the actor himself nor form Warner Bros Pictures.

Wonder Woman, to be directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) is set for a 2017 release. In case I didn't mention it earlier, this is a big deal. This would be the first big screen adaptation of Wonder Woman, not to mention in the DC Comics franchise, she's involved with Superman (so I've heard). For those of you that are curious about Gal Gadot, you won't have to wait until 2017. Gadot will make her debut as Wonder Woman in the superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, coming to theaters March 25, 2016.
