I believe I saw a trailer for this way back when I saw The Hunger Games: Mockingjay--Part 2 in theaters. I didn't begin to see trailers air on TV until a few weeks ago. There have been several movies about Wall Street to hit the box office, and this looks to be the latest of them as it takes a closer look at Wall Street by detracting it and showing it's impact on us ordinary people.
The movie stars George Clooney--uh hello you had me with that name alone. Clooney plays Lee Gates, a smug cable TV host--a stock guru, if you will--who is taken hostage on-air by a man who has lost all of his money. Gates (Clooney) is to blame because this man has followed his investment tips from the show.
This movie promises to be a thriller. If you know me, you know that I'm a sucker for those. I've read that the film uses a real-time structure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. However, if you watch the trailer (which I've posted below) it appears that they've given everything away in the few minutes previewing the movie. Everyone knows the movie is no fun when key plot points are given away.
Having seen the trailer my interest is still peeked. Jodie Foster directs and has quite the impressive cast: Julia Roberts, Giancarlo Esposito, Dominic West, and Caitronia Balfe--just to name a few.
Money Monster opens in theaters May 13. You can check out the trailer below and decide for yourselves. Still worth the watch? Let us know!
