Monday [Blue Carpet] Style: Teen Choice + Best Dressed

Well I was unimpressed by the 2013 Teen Choice Awards that took place this past Sunday. I never understood why have all the extra options for nominees when you know who's going to win? But I always like watching these events to see what Hollywood's youngest starlets are wearing. And there were some favorites I saw on the red carpet.

The highlights of the evening definitely had to include the cast of Glee's acceptance of Choice TV Comedy and Lea Michele making a surprise appearance to accept her award for Choice TV Comedy Actress. Michele choked up, thanking all her fans for their support, and dedicated her award to Cory. She looked gorgeous in her Oscar de la Renta dress, her most important accessory being a necklace with Cory's name. You can watch the clip here.

Another was Ashton Kutcher receiving the UltimateChoice Award, or what he called the award for saying, "you're old". I enjoyed his acceptance speech. He encouraged the audience by defining sexy as being smart, throughtful and generous. He continued by saying that opportunities are hard work. And success doesn't come without hard work. He left with a great quote, "Find your opportunites and always be sexy". YES! I love that. You can watch his speech here.

And on to the fashionistas. Here is my best dressed list from the 2013 Teen Choice Awards.

Shay Mitchell in Jenni Kayne
Lilly Collins in Fausto Puglisi
Nina Dobrev in J. Mendel
Kat Graham in M Missoni Brocade Intarsia
Lucy Hale in Houghton
Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta
Cierra Ramirez in Angelys Balek

  1. I didn't watch it, but from what I saw online and on your blog... Shay Mitchell looked awesome.

  2. I did happy to catch Lea's speech on some show the other day and it was pretty emotional.

I don't watch award shows because they are so predictable, but I do like the red carpets. My best dressed from the Teen Choice Awards was Selena Gomez.
