I usually don't do Friday Night Movies so close to their release date, but I'll make an exception because it's been a while since I've done one.
"After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own." (IMDb)
The movie immediately sparked interest to me once I heard Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper would be starring in it. I actually like Jennifer Lawrence. It was interesting to learn that Mark Wahlberg wanted the role that ended up going to Bradley Cooper. IMDb says this created a bit of tension between director David O. Russell and his former star of his previous film, The Fighter. Luckily for Cooper, this is looking to be one of his most promising roles and this also looks like it will be a great role for Jennifer Lawrence. I've seen her in movies prior to The Hunger Games and she has performed well. Good for her to not ride on the success of another book to movie adaptation. The story line sounds pretty promising, I'd like to see how Cooper handles the role because I never got to see The Words. Here's to hoping this Drama | Comedy is Oscar-worthy material.
Silver Linings Playbook opens next week, November 21st. Check out the trailer below, what do you think?
