"Two distraught mothers, whose children were gunned down in a drive-by, team up to avenge their deaths after local authorities fail to take action." (IMDb)

Now I can't wait for this. One, I love Viola Davis. I think she does incredible work. And second, while her music career may be a little faulty (as of late) I love Jennifer Lopez as an actress. I don't care what anyone says. Okay, more on the film.

Everyone's been buzzing since the trailer premiered earlier this month. Earlier this year it was reported that Samuel Goldwyn films had acquired the rights. Directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline, Paid in Full, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story), Lila & Eve is a Lifetime Films presentation. Who would've known?

Just because it's a Lifetime Films presentation hasn't turned me away yet. Did I mention it has an 8.3 rating on IMDb? And with its two leading ladies, I don't think the film will have any problems drawing in audiences. Jennifer Lopez spoke with  TheWrap during an interview in January about the upcoming movie. "I did understand the emotions", Lopez said. "Being a mom and loving your child the way you do. What [my character]loses, it's unspeakable. For me it was about digging into being a single mom, that loneliness, trying to do right by that." (TheWrap)

The film premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. The film also stars Aml Ameen (Sense8), Andre Royo, and Shea Whigham. Viola Davis is also one of the executive producers.

Lila & Eve is set for a limited release date (limited, my behind. I'm still gonna find a way to see it) of July 17. Check out the trailer below. What do you think?
