Perez Hilton reports that Orlando Bloom is "on the brink of landing the role of Batman!!!" (Gossip Cop).

The celebrity news blog claims that a "source" at Warner Bros. has even confirmed that Bloom is their top choice for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.

Perez quoted the apparent source saying "Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call. If this is true, that means Bloom will be teaming up with his fellow Englishman Henry Cavill as Superman in the EPIC movie" (Gossip Cop). That's a big if.

Gossip Cop has confirmed that his rumor is so false. Gossip Cop checked with a rep for Bloom who confirmed "This appears to be internet gossip" (Gossip Cop).
