Kat Graham, singer/actress, best known for her role on The Vampire Diaries has received mixed buzz ever since debuting herself as a music artist. "Put Your Graffiti On Me", her newest single hasn't blown up on the charts and the actress is now determined to be taken seriously as a pop singer. Kat Graham has released her debut EP Against The Wall, which features her lead single and three other songs. I don't care for what I've heard on the EP so far, nothing special stood out to me. And I would love to hear the voice behind the audio mixing. Throughout the songs I hear hints of some good vocals, and each track plays to her strengths, but I don't care for the songs.
I think part of the mixed reception is that her edgy image does work for her as well as the choreography, but all in of her songs I've never actually heard her without any aid from auto-tuning. It would be nice to hear just her voice on a solid ballad, or on a simple pop tune. That would give her a chance to prove herself. Her recent performance of "Put Your Graffiti On Me" on The Ellen DeGeneres Show was not great at all. The track "Heartkiller" from Kat's EP is free for a limited time on iTunes.
