Wednesday Buzz: Tyler Perry in "Alex Cross" Trailer

Tyler Perry will star as the title character in the upcoming film Alex Cross. This is a change from his usual Madea character as he will be playing detective in the movie. Cross will be chasing a serial killer played by Matthew Fox, according to Gossip Cop. The film is based on the series of James Patterson thrillers which all feature the character Cross, previously played by Morgan Freeman.

I still can't get over Tyler Perry playing this character. Personally, I've never seen him as a strong actor so I'm not sure how he'll handle this character. I loved seeing Freeman in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider, and I'm sure fans of the previous movies did as well. People have already been buzzing about the film and complaining about Perry. Some are hoping that Tyler Perry will surprise us in this new role, while others are iffy because we're just waiting for him to come out as Madea any minute. That's a major setback for him but after viewing the trailer, I'm hoping this will be a decent movie.
