Dwyane Johnson took to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to welcome his new co-star.
"Want to officially welcome my good bud and all around bad ass Charlize Theron to FAST & FURIOUS 8", the star posted along with a pic.
MTV asked the actress how she felt about joining the franchise as the new villain and her response? "I'm coming to mess that s--t up! (E!)"
But, don't expect to see too much action from Charlize Theron behind the wheel. In an interview with E! she said "I feel like that gang has got the driving down. Like, they have a really good thing going. I don't know if I need to step in in that department" (E!).
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Scott Eastwood would be joining the film as well. The actor posed on Insta "It's hard to put into words how excited I am for the next Fast & Furious. To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It's a legacy. These great actors who have been in it together for so long have become a family. I absolutely can't wait to join it" (E!).
The little bit we do know about Eastwood's character in the upcoming film is that he will be working under Kurt Russell's character.
If you're confused, you need to get hip!! Like right now. I'm serious! Get into it. Looking for a lineup for a movie night in? This is it! I'm a huge fan of this series and am pretty excited to see what's in store next.
There still aren't too many new details about the upcoming movie except that it's slated for a 2017 release. Other stars returning to movie will be Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham. The film will be directed by Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray.
