The 21 year-old British singer has been blowing up in the music scene. I first heard her music a little earlier in the summer and was impressed by her vocals, but not too fond of her music. Her first single "R.I.P" did exceptionally well, debuting at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The single I heard from her that was released here in the U.S. "How We Do (Party) definitely wasn't my favorite. The song is currently on the Billboard Hot 100, but not top 20 material quite yet. While touring with Coldplay this summer, Rita announced that her debut album will be titled ORA. Signed to Roc Nation in '09, the retro fashionable singer is now releasing her promotional single, "Roc The Life".
I think this is her best track yet, and will be better to get the support and fans for her album release. It's a nice uptempo pop track and I can see myself jamming to her music. Rita has also mentioned Gwen Stefani as being a huge influence stylistically, and Beyoncé as a major influence. Anyone who's a fan of the Queen B is good with me!
Check out, "Roc The Life" below. Enjoy!
