The recent Dark Knight Rises tragedy in Colorado has left Warner Bros. pushing back the original September 7th release of the film Gangster Squad, according to E!
While seeing Dark Shadows in theaters back in May, I saw the trailer for the movie and knew it was something that I wanted to see. Well it looks like there will be no action-packed B'Day movie for me. A source has confirmed with E! that the studio is looking at release sometime in January. The only sure thing is that the movie will be released in 2013.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the late release of the film will allow time to re-shoot a scene in the film of a movie theater shooting, in light of the Aurora tragedy (E!).
Gangster Squad is based on the book by Paul Liebermanon's, "Tales from the Gangster Squad'. The story is based on real-life mobster, Mickey Cohen (played by Sean Penn) in Los Angeles in the 1940s. The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Emma Stone.
