"A couple are haunted by a supernatural presence that is unleashed during a college experiment." (IMDb)
Instantly after seeing hte trailer, I think The Grudge meets Paranormal Activity. However shoddy the film may seem, I love a good but not-so-great horror film. The horror/paranormal genre meant to scare you out of your seat just doesn't work on me because its all been done before. There seemed to be some decent scenes from the film shown in the trailer. I perosnally like when previews are simple and short because I like to be left to think about the film. The trailer gave away probably the best moments from the movie which may not even live up to its hype in theaters. Anyways, it's nice to see Ashley Greene in something outside of the Twilight franchise, and with me being a huge Harry Potter fan, it's nice to see a familiar face from my favorite movie series (Tom Pelton aka Malfoy).
We seem to be going through some supernatural/paranormal phase in cinema lately, and I can't wait to see us move past it. Paranormal Activity along with other failed attempts at the genre have ruined it a bit for me.
Anyways, The Apparition opens in theaters August 24th. Check out the trailer below. What do you think?
