It seems like Warner Brothers is trying to make another movie franchise as popular as the Harry Potter franchise. I'm not sure if that will happen but this book-to-movie adaptation is based off of a four-book series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I think fans of the book will bring about a new following, like me. I actually planned on buying the kindle version of this, this weekend. The story is about a young man, Ethan Wate is drawn to a mysterious young girl Lena Duchannes, who moves to his small town and stumbles on a crypt of her family secrets. The studio has also followed in suite with Harry Potter in getting adult-oriented filmmakers to handle the material intended for a younger audience. Screenwriter and director Richard LaGravenese may have something great up his sleeve. With the exception of Viola Davis and Emma Rossum, I like the new faces are being attached to the franchise.
I first saw a trailer of this while seeing Breaking Dawn: Part 2 a while ago. I'm excited to read the book and watch the film and compare. Beautiful Creatures opens in theaters February 15th. Check out the trailer below. What do you think?
