The B-Side: Weekly Recap

To my wonderful followers, thanks for still commenting and I'm sorry for the lack there of posts....rehearsal this new show has taken a toll on my blogging. I had some good stuff this week too! So...I've decided to do a weekly re-cap, of what I planned on blogging throughout the week.

Too all you non-twitter crazy people or if you haven't been watching MTV, FUSE, or just been hiding under a rock....you all should know that Justin Timberlake is back in the music business. I screamed--literally--when I heard the news. After a 6 year hiatus (wow, I can't believe it's been that long since FutureSex/Love Sounds) from his sophomore album, Justin will be releasing some new music very soon. AGH! According to Billboard, a source close to the project confirmed that Timberlake has around 20 new tracks recorded (Billboard).

Last Thursday JT tweeted "To whom it may concern...I think I'M READY!"  along with posting this video. Justin Bieber even re-tweeteed saying, he can't wait for new music from the singer and his long time collaborator, Timabaland (of course!).

And finally we have a comeback single from Justine Timberlake. His newly released song "Suit & Tie" featuring Jay-Z! Are you excited yet? Cause you should be. Produced by Timberlake, Timbaland, Jay-Z, Jerome "J-ROC" Harmon and James Flauntleroy, this is a fun track. It's a different sound but I'm in love with it and have purchased it already. Buy your copy on iTunes now!

Oh, how could I forget. Check out the track below. Enjoy! This is what Justin had to say about the new music (from his official website):
“Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC. The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process. What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some new found muses that I’ve discovered along the way. I’m calling it “The 20/20 Experience,” and it’s coming out this year.”

Among other breaking music news. Beyoncé just announced the first original, new music from Destiny's Child in eight years. WOAH!

Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Beyoncé Knowles have reunited for a new compilation on January 29th titled Love Songs. The album will feature a number of romantic, love songs from the group's previous albums. It will also include their first new song since 2004 "Nuclear".

As said on their official website:

“Comprised mainly of romantic gems recorded between 1997 and 2004, Love Songs features “Nuclear,” the first new Destiny’s Child recording since 2004. Produced by Pharrell Williams (who cowrote the track with DC’s Michelle Williams, James Fauntleroy and Lonny Bereal), “Nuclear” features vocal production by Beyoncé and Lonny Bereal.”

You can pre-order the album via Amazon now!

Check out the track below. Enjoy! 90's vibes from the amazing trio. LOVE IT. I've also heard rumors that the group will be performing a medley of hits at the Super Bowl. Hmm...who knows what Bey has up her sleeve.

Speaking of the Queen Bey. My Celeb Buzz includes her gracing the cover of February's GQ looking ridiculously amazing. Now I have to go out and buy a copy. It looks like 2013 is gonna be Bey's year. I can feel it! Haha. The cover is fitting for her upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show performance. The spread was photographed by renowned photographer Terry Richardson. The issue hit stands this week so you can all go out and grab your copies. She talks about her life, growing up and preparing for performances comparing them to an athlete in the Super Bowl. Oh and of course she talked about her upcoming music (which I'm dying to hear about). She's apparently already recorded 50 songs for an upcoming project--woah!

Via GQ:

On how she gets the job done:
"I worked so hard during my childhood to meet this goal: By the time I was 30 years old, I could do what I want," she says. "I've reached that. I feel very fortunate to be in that position. But I've sacrificed a lot of things, and I've worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it."

On her collaborators: "I've been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and Dream. We all started in the '90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us."

On the album’s influences:
“Mostly R&B. I always have my Prince and rock/soul influences. There’s a bit of D’Angelo, some ’60s doo-wop. And Aretha and Diana Ross.”

For the full story visit GQ! I promise it's very interesting. The 33 year-old singer also has an HBO documentary on her life titled "Life is But a Dream" on February 16th.

Among other celeb news this week, we've got movie trailer release for a Lindsy Lohan flick, The Canyons, Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon's Mud and Spring Breakers

Well hope you guys had a great week!
