Wednesday Buzz: "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie to have NC-17 Rating

I'm guessing that's no shocker to all those who know what the story is actually about. Since posting news about the in-the-works book to movie adaptation, here's an updated sccop.

The most buzzed about flick to hit theaters will be rated NC-17 according the screenwriter, Kelly Marcel (Gossip Cop). Marcel recently spoke about the racy film in an interview according to Gossip Cop.

"It will be rated NC-17. It's going to be raunchy", said Marcel to the Sunday Times (Gossip Cop). With that being said, the film has not actually been assigned a rating yet seeing as how the film is still being developed. Marcel spoke about the sexual content of the film stating "We are 100% going there" (Gossip Cop).

Marcel explained which sex scenes would make the cut. "We did go through and decided which are our favorites and which are not. Most of them are in there, but I can't say more than that" (Gossip Cop). Oh, of course.

It's funny because I just watched a documentary with my mom about the rating process for studio films. I'm sure the ratings board will be quick to stamp it with an NC-17 rating.

And for those still dying to know who will play the character Grey, Marcel also informed Sunday Times that the casting rumors are exactly what they are, rumors. No one has been cast for the film yet. Marcel laughs it off "Ha-ha! No actor would sign up to a film without a script. That would be insane" (Gossip Cop).

Once they have a fully developed project and move on to casting I'm sure that's all anyone will be talking about.

  1. I think no matter what they rate it + people will be lined up to see it + and seeing as how laxed ticket takers are + even folks that aren't 17 will have seen it. -- Wye
