Ryan Gosling was caught on camera helping to break up a fight in the streets of NYC. E! News has the latest. Apparently two men were fighting over a painting in the middle of an intersection by St. Marks' Place in the East Village. A couple of bystanders tried to interfere, but it was Gosling himself that came to the rescue.
He ran over and got in between the two men fighting. Bystanders then began to realize who he was, and swoon at his flexing biceps. Ryan physically restrained one of the guys--while dropping his grocery bag, and helped to contain the situation and escorted the man away.
Freelance photographer Valerie Alvea, got the incident on video and explained what happened. "He took them to the corner and asked them what was going on. The gentlemen was like 'He stole my painting'. So he [Gosling] gave the guy $20 and asked if it was settled. He took the money out of his pocket and said 'If that's what you're fighting for, here you go'.", she told E!
Ultimately, there were no police involved in the confrontation. But I must say, that is pretty impressive. I don't think it's that common at all that you'd find an actor helping out two men arguing--well in this case fighting--in the street. And those bystanders were pretty lucky, it's not everyday you see Ryan Gosling or any other actor break up a fight.
