Since then she's gone back to the recording studio and I'm ecstatic to say that a new album is in the works! Last Friday Ariana dropped a new single titled "Dangerous Woman". The grown n sexy single was produced by Max Martin and is also the title of her upcoming third studio album, due out May 20th.
This single is fire!! For all the haters who claims that she does nothing but imitate other artists (you know the one...), peep this track. She's strayed away from the usual pop numbers and tracks assisted by roaring horns that we're used to hearing from her. Led by guitars, the song mixes in an alternative sound as Ariana sings seductively and confidently over it. Not to mention, her vocals are on point!
The song is sultry, chill and almost like something out of the past. Music reviews I've read have compared it to The Weeknd's Oscar nominated track, "Earned It". And you know what? I kind of get those vibes. It's definitely a step up from the song. Instead of a radio-friendly, upbeat dance/pop song (like "Break Free"), she's giving us a mature sound, proving she's right in her element. I've said it since my first album review (Yours Truly), when Ariana brings us those solid R&B tracks, it's brilliant. I'm hoping this track is a definite taste of the genre switch that is to come from this upcoming album.

Yes, Ari! I'm hoping for an amazing video to come from this. Maybe with this new sound, we'll get a new look as well? Let's cross our fingers that she'll ditch the damn ponytail!
