Wednesday Buzz: Amy Winehouse Fashion Line

. . No comments:

E! has it that Fred Perry (sports clothing line), announced that it had placed its clothing collaboration with Amy Winehouse on hold after her sudden death. Also saying that the clothing line would only proceed with the production of the remaining collections that Amy Winehouse herself completed designs for earlier in the year, and if her family gave approval.

Well, the Winehouses gave the approval. A statement was just releaseed saying, "After much consideration and with the blessing of Amy's family, Fred Perry has decided to release the AAW11 Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry Collection". The sportswear company has worked with the late Amy Winehouse since 2010.

"Amy was passionate and dedicated to the collaboration and her signature style is clearly stamped across each piece." (E! News, Gina Serpe) Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, also released a statement about his decision to proceed with the clothing line, which will extend through the fall of 2012. Winehouse's cut of any future profits will go toward the charity her father is starting in her name, the Amy Winehoue Foundation, ..."[set] up to help children and young people in her name" (E! News, Gina Serpe).

I'm excited to see what the line will look like. We all have known Amy Winehouse for her unique style, including the infamous "beehive" that she started. I shall be on the look out for this. Although, I'm pretty sure the line is pricey, so if you are interested in buying anything from the new clothing line, I'd save now.
