CBS is in the works of a remake of the classic sitcom, Bewitched.

Executives Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, who were behind the 2005 film [FLOP], are said to be executive producers for the show. Marc Lawrence (Did You Hear About the Morgans?), is also an executive producer who will write the script.

Bewitched, airing in 1964 had an eight-season run on ABC. Some may have seen this coming. Especially with the news of the Munsters remake, and Hawaii Five-0 being apart of CBS's 2010-11 season; not to mention ABC remaking Charlie's Angels.

The Bewitched film didn't have all that much magic in theaters, even thought it starred Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. The flick earned just $63 million domestically, and was said to cost somewhere near $80 million.

"Bewitched is just one of about a dozen comedy scripts Sony has gotten orders from at the broadcast level even though it's still relatively early in the development season. CBS declined comment." (Variety)

So does this mean that this shows script will flop as well? We'll just have to wait and see. Personally, I definitely don't think they should be doing a remake to such a classic show. Oh lordy, I can just feel an I Dream of Jeannie remake right around the corner.

  2. I don't understand greedy executives trying to make money in which way they can + it's a classic and should be left alone.
